HGR’s home office and original showroom is right outside Cleveland in Euclid, Ohio, so as you would imagine, most of the HGR staff are die-hard Cleveland Browns fans.
During the first two weeks of this NFL season, HGR was featured in Amazon Prime’s opening segment during Thursday Night Football. A new venture for Amazon, Thursday Night Football is exclusively shown on Amazon Prime Video, and on its first night received over 15.3 million viewers. That means several of our HGR team members, as well as our Euclid Showroom, were seen across the globe.
HGR first made an appearance during week one’s matchup, Chiefs vs. Chargers. The following week felt like a bit of a homecoming as the Browns took on their rival, Pittsburgh Steelers and rallied to victory.
HGR was chosen based on its history in the Rust Belt. In 1947, our Euclid location was purchased by General Motors, and in 1948 the facility produced automotive bodies for delivery trucks and Chevy and Oldsmobile station wagons. In later years, GM would produce additional bodies for a variety of vehicles, including the iconic El Camino. If you visit our Euclid showroom, you can see still remnants of the GM production line throughout the facility.
The Thursday Night Football intro celebrates the people, personalities, and landmarks that make each city great. You can also catch glimpses of our great city, known for being a part of the rust belt, but more famously known for housing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (Read the Customer Spotlight on Chris DeHass, who has played at the Hall of Fame using equipment purchased at HGR.)
